Lakeland Motor Museum visit at Lake Windermere in the Lake District Part 2

As we got to the second floor, My favourite part up there had to be the Isle of Man TT exhibit where they had 4 recent winning bikes there accompanied with the riders gear and a bit of story and back ground on the madmen that took those bikes to the top spot on the podium.

While I'm a car guy first and foremost, I tend to watch things on the Isle of Man TT whenever it crops up or wherever I can as it really captures my imagination. The footage of the guys going 150mph+ on tiny roads through villages, past pubs and over jumps, mini roundabouts and across junctions is just impossible to ignore.

I always find it funny when watching to see people in their house gardens or stood in a beer garden with a pint and food less than 10 feet away from these guys doing these speeds past them.

Since Isle of man TT is superbikes too, they somehow look out of place doing it which makes it even more appealing- Its like filling a F1 track with a grid of WRC cars- They can do it and they will do it quite well, but it just looks odd and out of place, sketchy and unpredictable- that's what makes it unmissable entertainment though.

On the way out of the Isle of Man Exhibit is some very cool childrens pedal cars from across the years- I was there thinking to myself that I would of loved any of those as a child for sure, and some were genuinely nice and accurate scaled down cars of the era too. I could of had my own mini showroom in my parents living room 😁

Before entering the gift store is some modern classics from the 80s and 90's - Leading the way is of course a DMC DeLorean- I mean, what collection is complete without one really!

Followed closely by a Ford Sierra Cosworth, I wasn't clear on if it was a rs500 or not (leave a comment if you know!) FB RX-7, Corvette ZR-1, Vauxhall Corsa B and a lovely MG ZT v6 version.

I definitely had a soft spot for the Vauxhall Corsa B as that's what I learnt to drive in- even after having the JDM legends, its hard not to turn my head and reminisce when I see a Corsa B again and they have became quite rare, particularly after the scrappage scheme. I love the shape and small size of the FB RX-7 aswell. After owning a couple of Volvo 340's as my first cars- I was unsure where to go next really for a period and FB RX-7 were around my price and budget- but very rare they came up. There's definitely a space for one in my infinite garage for sure.

The other car I really couldnt stop looking at in this collection of modern classics was Chevrolet Corvette ZR-1! it's the perfect 80's wedge super car, it had the right wheels and the most perfectly preserved and brilliant blue colour. For those that played a lot of Project Gotham Racing when they were younger, you may remember the Callaway Sledgehammer that was based off of this - a twin turbo 1000bhp beast that went over 250mph back then! I never got bored of taking it over the New York Bridges track and braking as late as possible - swear i may of touched closer to 270mph in the game 🤣👌

On the the topic of speed, this is a fitting point to wrap this up before my final part which is The Campbell BlueBird Exhibition! I already shared a few picutres over on my HibDM_Official instagram on this.
